Entrepreneur and Investor. Founded Empreendedor.com in 2014 and is currently the Managing Partner of Media Invest Group, an alliance of international companies that develops disruptive technologies in the Digital Media and Virtual Reality sectors. Former Lisbon Entrepreneur Fair and Startup Weekend organizer. Bsc, Engineering, Computer Science in Technical University of Lisbon.
Bruno Monarca, Strategy Director
Bruno Monarca has a solid and comprehensive knowledge on strategic management. He holds a Master degree in arts Management from ISCTE- IUL as well as complementary Courses in Arts project Management. After the conclusion of his thesis he was invited to teach Arts and Cultural Marketing in the Curatorial Studies Master degree. He also has experience in organizing and planning events both commercial and Cultural. Since 2016 he is the Strategy director of Media Invest Group.

Pedro Eloy, Hong Kong & Asia Pacific Adviser
Pedro Eloy Chairs the Young Entrepreneurs Taskforce (YET) and the ESBN Taskforce on Youth & Women Entrepreneurship, an initiative aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, promoting business leapfrogging and economic growth for Asia Pacific-based young entrepreneurs. Pedro Eloy founded and heads the MBA Business Lab at Hong Kong University School of Business and Economics and has 24 years of professional experience in digital transformation, business, strategy and marketing.
Tiago Sena, Startup & Innovation Adviser
Tiago Sena is Chief Operating Officer at Media Hub / PlayMotion company. With almost two decades of experience in internet based business, he had successfully helped dozens of individuals but especially companies applying digital business and marketing skills to achieve success, changing their lifestyle and become more effective and profitable whilst working smarter.
Bernardo Mendia, China Market Adviser
Bernardo Mendia’s experience ranges from trade finance to negotiation, from building new teams to developing markets and from international trade and logistics to real estate investments. His current focus is the greater China market and Portuguese and Spanish-speaking countries.
Mendia’s main activities are advisory on real estate and financial investments and international trade and commerce.
Nuno Sá Leal, Design Adviser
Nuno Sá Leal has a PhD in Design at the University of Barcelona. Jury of several Design contests and guest speaker at several conferences related to Design and Marketing, he is part of the Scientific Council for the publication of the book “Designing for More Inclusive Cities”, invited by the University of Hasselt. Sá Leal is the current President of the Portuguese Association of Designers and is the Chairman of the General Assembly of the Atheneu Comercial do Porto.
Rui Penedo, Events Logistics Adviser
Rui Manuel Penedo is the Executive Director at SNBA – National Society of Fine Arts (Portugal) and has a large experience in senior positions in companies and governmental agencies. Penedo was senior technical analyst in IAPMEI (public agency within the Portuguese Ministry for the Economy), Director of Lisboa Story Centre (Lisbon Tourism Association) and Executive Board Member & CFO in Camões Institute of Portugal.
Theresa Beco de Lobo, Superior Education Adviser
Degree in Painting by ESBAL and Anthropology at ISCSP – UTL. Fashion Design of the Chicago Institute of Design, USA and Watercolor and Fashion Illustration at the Art Students League, NY. Master in History of Contemporary Art by the New University of Lisbon. PhD by the University of Seville. Post-PhD at Carnegie Mellon University, USA. Professor in IADE-U, Art Institute, Design and Company-University. Belongs to the UNIDCOM / IADE research team, having presented conferences in Lisbon, Virginia, Spokane, Chicago, Denver, USA, Bangalore, India, Hong Kong and Shanghai, China, Istanbul, Turkey, Athens, Greece, Barcelona, Spain. She has more than 30 published articles.

Sofia Gama, Partnership Manager
Sofia Gama is a master student in International Studies, in ISCTE – IUL. With a degree in International Relations in Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas, she was a trainee in Political Observatory.
With experience in communication and partnerships, she is particularly interested in sustainability, environment, strategy and leadership.
Rita Nascimento, Digital Marketing Coordinator
Rita Nascimento’s professional experience includes working with NGOs and startups in Business Development, Project Management and Digital Marketing. Before, she has worked in the field of digital marketing, youth development and business development.

Leila Xavier, Digital Marketing
Leila Xavier is graduated in Business Communication in Higher Institute of Business Communication (ISCEM), Lisbon. Had a 5-months internship in National Society of Fine Arts (Sociedade Nacional de Belas-Artes) in the communication and marketing department.
Martim Nobre, Digital Marketing Intern
Martim Nobre is a third-year student of Business Communication at the Higher Institute of Business Communication (ISCEM), in Lisbon. Had a three month internship at the department of communication of Sport Lisboa e Benfica where he performed various tasks. He performed projects for Uber, Startup Portugal and Cervejaria Portugália.
He has great interest in business development, marketing, strategy and branding and plans to continue his studies to get a master degree.

Salomé Ribeiro, Human Resources Manager
Born in Lisbon, Salomé Ribeiro is a sociologist, with a Master degree in Human Ecology. Worked in Empreendedor.com since its beginning and collaborated in the Lisbon Entrepreneurship Fair 2017 as operations manager.
Salomé is experienced in human resources and project management.
José Mendes, Executive Editor
Journalist since 1989, worked in several Portuguese media among which Radio Comercial, where he was news director. He is currently a consultant and trainer on the communication and leadership areas. He is also responsible for the Portuguese language content of the Media Invest Group.
With a master’s degree in Sociology, he is particularly interested in leadership and organizational issues.
Bruno Cardoso, Legal Consultant
Bruno Alves Cardoso has a Master’s Degree in Forensic Law, specialized in Civil Law and Business Law, from the Catholic University of Portugal. Is a Lawyer at Auchan and was a speaker in Startup Weekend Lisbon 2016.

Rui Vasques, Lead Designer
Rui Vasques was born in Brazil, but has lived in Coimbra, Portugal, since childhood. Got a degree in Design at IADE, in Lisbon, where he continued his studies. With his project for Sustainable Development “Live With Earth”, Vasques won the IADE Best Student of the Year Award 2012 and got a Master’s Degree in Industrial Production Design.
Was an eco-designer at the Remix Project in Lisbon and works on several projects as a freelancer.
João Vinagre, Design and Video Production
João Vinagre is born in Paris, France. He has been working professionally since 1996 when he finished his degree in Visual Design on IADE School in Lisbon. Worked on “offline” design and since 2001 on digital design (web sites, vídeo, animation). Actually he is a co-founder of “Transmit You, Lda” a company dedicated to live streaming and video production.
Speaks Portuguese (natively), English and French.
Sandra Romano, Designer
In 1998 Sandra Romano got her degree in communication Design and 2005 specialized in image and communication and corporate image.
Sandra Romano has more than 20 years of experience in areas like brand, graphic/web design, events, packaging and social management. Communication consultancy is part of her day to day work.
Tomaz Saraiva, Lead Programmer
Tomaz Saraiva spent the last ten years between realities. He began working with Virtual Reality in 2004, way before it was cool. For five years he developed virtual environments to treat anxiety disorders. Then, implemented a multiplayer VR environment to treat claustrophobia as part of his Master’s thesis in Creative Games at the University of Salford. He spent one year developing a VR cross-platform prototype to aid in industrial machinery maintenance. And another two years building an AR platform designed for business marketing.
Nuno Mota, Lead 3D Artist
Born in Porto, made in Lisbon. Nuno is 3D Generalist with intense passion for everything CG, especially videogames, where he draws his inspiration and knowledge from. Has built experience from more than 15 years of 3D work, that began as a hobby, but quickly turned into a serious passion. Always a stickler for optimization, detailing, and the best visuals for every project. Past experience includes 3D general work in AR apps and gaming.
