Meta recently confirmed the imminent release of Llama 3 with President of Global Affairs Nick Clegg hinting at a rollout within the next month. This large language model will introduce groundbreaking advancements in AI, offering developers and researchers the opportunity to leverage advanced AI capabilities for their projects.

Joelle Pineau, Meta's Vice President of AI Research, emphasized their dedicated efforts towards advancing models - “We are hard at work in figuring out how to get these models not just to talk, but actually to reason, to plan . . . to have memory.”

So it seems that the next phase for AI bots appears to be integrating human-like reasoning and cognition. Llama 3 is anticipated to surpass its predecessors in terms of performance and versatility.

While specific release dates remain undisclosed, the arrival of Llama 3 and GPT-5 is expected in the near future, promising to revolutionize the landscape of AI-driven language processing.

Also, Openai’s chief operating officer Brad Lightcap, told the Finacial Times in an interview that AI will soon handle complex tasks with sophisticated reasoning abilities, hinting at untapped potential in their capacity to think.

As tech giants like OpenAI and Meta pursue more human-like interfaces, the notion of chatbots with reasoning and memory capabilities is both exciting and unsettling.
